The Citroen Ami Super, basically a rebodied 2CV with a facelift and the bigger GS’s 1015cc flat-4, has captured me for some reason.
I’ve been on a 2CV/Dyane/Ami kick for awhile. I love the innovative durability and simplicity, teamed with Gallic quirkiness. The later Ami 8's were de-uglified, and the later Super models - with all of 55hp - were able to get out of their own way.
I kind of wonder if any of these made it to the US before Citroen closed up shop here in 1975. I bet they’re super rare, though.
What does Oppo think?

The Ami is awesome! It’s one of my favorite Citroens.

I would totally drive one. Delightfully quirky wagon, what's not to love?

Oppo thinks the GS was better.

The GS was fantastic... and slotted nicely between the Ami and DS/ID/CX. But the Ami had this shamelessness about its quirks that I just love.

Wagon AND fastback sedan!

I’m sorry, I can’t understand anything beyond “wagon.”
Nah, they're both pretty nifty. Why are cars now so dull?

Because they have so many safety and economy regulations to design around now. Worth it. But it's still sad.

Well, the GS wasn’t without its oddities either! There was the twin-binnacle dashboard and the (failed) birotor! Anyways I think I just love the GS since it was the common man’s CX. I’d love to have a garage with the two of them, it’s like taking the ‘scale’ tool and bumping it up a notch!

The GS absolutely had its share of quirks. I adore it. But while the GS was basically inspired by Pininfarina, the Ami was a bizarre all-original.
Also, an Ami coupe variant called the M35 came with a rotary, as well.

That’s right!!!! I totally forgot the M35! I love that thing, I don’t think there’s ever been a more unimpressed car in the history of the world, and it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
It’s like a disgruntled tortoise. Cute, slow, and unreliable. I love it.
